18.21 Man Made
Launched in 2014, 18.21 Man Made was founded by professional haircare veterans Angel del Solar, Aston LaFon, and David del Solar. The founders developed the brand after identifying a lack of distinctive men’s grooming products, pairing their haircare expertise with a more considered grooming ritual. Its identity draws on American Prohibition-era bootlegging and cocktail culture: the name combines the 18th Amendment, which established Prohibition, with the 21st Amendment, which repealed it. In 2019, New World Natural Brands acquired 18.21 Man Made from its founders, adding men’s grooming to the new owner’s portfolio. Fragrance is central to the brand’s story through Sweet Tobacco, described as its first fragrance and the cornerstone from which the collection was built. Sweet Tobacco Spirits, introduced within that fragrance world, became notably popular after the founders expected it could be a hit.
