AbdesSalaam Attar (profumo.it) The Scents of The Soul

AbdesSalaam Attar is the perfume name of French-born Dominique Dubrana, who lives and works in Italy and converted to Sufism. After about a decade travelling through Africa, the Middle East and the East, Dubrana returned to Europe and began by selling pure essential oils in hand-labelled bottles; he later composed his own attars. He began composing and selling perfumes in Italy in 1988 and launched profumo.it in 1999 to offer the “Scents of the Soul” internationally. The house is presented under La Via del Profumo, with its official contact identity in Montecolombo, Italy. Its stated creative practice is natural perfumery, using certified natural essential oils and absolutes. Dubrana’s work also encompasses olfactory psychology, aromatherapy, perfume education and personalized scent creation. Muschio di Quercia, created from oakmoss with cedarwood, sandalwood and vetiver, was his first perfume and is described as one of his best sellers. In 2010, Mecca Balsam drew on his hajj and the scents encountered during that journey.
