Acampora

Founded in 1974 by Bruno Acampora, Acampora began with fragrances he made for himself and friends before selling them through boutiques including Sagan in Capri. Bruno came from a Neapolitan family of glove makers and had worked in Italian high fashion; his early fragrance work grew from a meeting with French perfumer Giovanni Varon in Saint-Tropez, while his travels informed seven essences. The brand’s identity rests on artisan perfumery, traditional extraction and maturation methods, selected natural raw materials, and formulas first offered as undiluted perfume oils, later joined by Extrait de Parfum and Eau de Parfum formats in the 2010s. Its main collection has preserved Bruno’s formulas, many dating back roughly four decades at the time of a 2014 profile, and presents them as unisex fragrances with a vintage-oriented character. After Bruno, his son Brunello and daughter-in-law Sonia continued the family business and creative legacy, alongside contemporary collections including 7Rules, Tadema and Acampora Studio 54. Collaborations with perfumer Miguel Matos included Tadema, Acampora 54 and Pompeii Red. In 2020, Young Hearts won the Independent Category at the Art and Olfaction Awards. Musc, among Bruno’s first scents, achieved immediate success, and its popularity helped lead to the founding of Bruno Acampora Profumi.
