Agatha Paris
Founded in Paris in 1974 by Michel Quiniou, Agatha began with a mission to make chic, contemporary costume jewellery accessible to women. Its creative concept joined Parisian inspiration with accessible design, informed by fashion trends translated into jewellery. The brand’s visual language is expressed through mixing and layering, mirror-finish silver, the bâton clasp, chain links and hammered finishes. In the 1980s, the family’s Scottish Terrier, Léon, became Agatha’s mascot, and the Scottie motif remains a central brand icon. King Power acquired the company from Quiniou in 2006, after first partnering with Agatha as its mainland-China distributor. During receivership proceedings, THOM and Renaissance Luxury Group, through Altesse, took over Agatha on February 26, 2021; the transaction was cleared by France’s competition authority that June. For its 50th anniversary in 2024, Agatha introduced an archive-inspired capsule and a campaign with a reworked brand identity. Its collections are designed in-house, hand-drawn and modelled before production.
