Agatha Ruiz de la Prada
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presented her first fashion collection in Madrid in 1981, establishing the foundation of her eponymous brand. Its creative identity is expressed through vivid color and recurring hearts, flowers, clouds, geometric forms, and playful symbolism. Ruiz de la Prada became associated with Madrid’s 1980s Movida cultural movement, while her designs developed through an ongoing relationship between fashion and modern art. The company began building a licensing model in 1986, with more than 100 collaborations spanning fashion accessories, home products, stationery, and perfumes. Its artistic and fashion milestones included shows and exhibitions connected with the Museum of Modern Art in Paris in 1994 and the Reina Sofía Museum in 1996. In 2000, Puig’s acquisition of Spanish fragrance group Myrurgia brought the brand’s fragrances into Puig’s portfolio. The Agatha Ruiz de la Prada Foundation, established in 2011, was created to preserve, classify, and disseminate the designer’s documentary and creative legacy. In fragrance, Agua received three FiFi Awards in 2003, while Tutti Frutti Love and Love Love Love were recognized internationally. In 2026, the brand marked Flor’s 25th anniversary with De Flor en Flor, launched in partnership with Puig.
