Ainea

Ainea was founded in 1990 in Badalona by Irene Gisbert Borràs and her partner Magda, before the business developed in Teià. The privately held brand is now based in Cabrera de Mar, in Barcelona’s Maresme area, where it operates as an olfactory-creation laboratory with its own brands and develops perfume, cosmetics, and ambient-scent concepts for third parties. Its creative identity draws on handcrafted Mediterranean perfumery, simple and authentic living, and a connection with the natural environment; cofounder and perfumer Irene Gisbert links her work to memories of the sea, pine trees, sunlight, and the surrounding Mediterranean landscape. Lua & Lee began within Ainea’s laboratory as a children’s cologne and grew into children’s cosmetics and home fragrance while retaining its established scent. Ainea is also a founding member of the Beauty Cluster and an initiator of the Mouillette d’Argent international perfumery competition and Barcelona Olfaction Week.
