Alessandro Dell'Acqua

Alessandro Dell’Acqua launched his eponymous ready-to-wear label in 1996 and presented its first collection at Milan Fashion Week. The brand expanded into menswear in 1998, women’s footwear in 2000, and eyewear in 2003, while its early visual identity paired sheer chiffon and lingerie-inspired transparency with tailoring and a strongly feminine aesthetic. It entered beauty in 2001 with its first women’s fragrance, produced under license by EuroItalia. Dell’Acqua’s relationship with the label later broke down in stages: he left in 2007, and in June 2009 distanced himself from collections produced without his approval before separating from the label. The Alessandro Dell’Acqua label continued afterward without a creative connection to its namesake designer.
