Alghabra Parfums
Alghabra Parfums traces its heritage to Maa tarat Al-Firdous, a small perfumery established by Mohammed Khair Alghabra in Old Damascus in 1973. Mohammed had begun helping in his elder brother’s perfume shop around 1955, where he later became known for perfumery skills and bespoke fragrances. In 2013, his son Anas Alghabra moved to Istanbul for business education and developed the idea of creating a perfume brand honoring his father and Damascus. Established in Istanbul in 2018, Alghabra Parfums combines Damascene heritage with contemporary artistic treatment in tribute to Old Damascus, known in its storytelling as the City of Jasmine, and to Mohammed Khair Alghabra. Its inaugural Collection No. 1, “Poetic Scents of Damascus,” was inspired by the city and by Anas’s father. From the Heart, the collection’s first scent, draws on flowers and fruits traditionally planted in the courtyards of Old Damascus’s Arabic houses. The creative frame later extended to Istanbul through Collection No. 2, Senses of Istanbul.
