Fragrance house

Alizee Detaille

Founded in Paris in 1905 by Marie-Aline Detaille, Countess of Presle, the house began with Baume Automobile, a beauty preparation developed with chemist Marcellin Berthelot to protect skin during automobile travel. It grew from beauty treatments into a Parisian beauty and fragrance house offering perfumes, colognes, skincare and powders, while updating historical names and formulas. After a postwar decline, Louis Pallier revived the house in 1990 and has owned it since that year. Its contemporary direction combines inherited formulas and French haute-parfumerie traditions with newer Eau de Parfum creations, drawing on Pallier’s olfactory memories of North Africa and Polynesia. The house’s stated olfactory identity is French haute parfumerie expressed through modern classicism. In its fragrance heritage, 1905 is presented as the original fragrance and a signature scent reinterpreted from the year the Detaille store was created. In 2024, the house participated in the ESXENCE art-perfume exhibition for the first time and presented Amber Dream as a new Eau de Parfum.
