Amazonia Viva
Amazonia Viva is a Brazilian natural-perfumery and cosmetics brand founded by Cristina Ferreira after she returned from studying abroad. Ferreira said in 2013 that she created the brand roughly a decade earlier, with three years passing before its first packaging was produced. Its work was built around research into Amazonian ingredients such as cupuaçu, buriti and Brazil nut, alongside formulas free of synthetic components, preservatives and petroleum derivatives. The brand’s visual identity, packaging and displays were developed by Du Plessis in a design project described as inspired by the Amazon rainforest. In 2013, Amazonia Viva Europe was established in France to import, export, trade and distribute cosmetics. That year, the brand was scheduled to enter 140 Sephora stores across France, a significant step in its international retail expansion.
