Amberfig

Amberfig is a Brazilian fragrance house founded in 2014 by perfumer David (Davi) Magalhães, who decided at the end of 2013 to create the brand. It began as a project between two friends, and its name combines amber and fig, their favorite fragrance references. Magalhães’s stated creative aim was to make fragrances that tell stories and transport the wearer into imagined or remembered settings. That method draws on literary and everyday sensory experiences: Smoking Lounge was inspired by the smoking room described in The Kite Runner, while Café Massoïa grew from the experience of coffee and new books in a café inside a bookstore. In Amberfig’s early period, Oriental Noir and Yasamin were its first two publicly discussed fragrances; Café Massoïa and Luminescência were reported as upcoming releases in November 2014, with Smoking Lounge in development for a planned 2015 launch. Coverage describes the collection since 2014 as spanning fresh, oriental, gourmand, and woody directions while retaining an authorial signature.
