American Crew

Founded in 1994 by stylist David Raccuglia, American Crew was created for men and professional stylists in response to a gap in dedicated men’s grooming and styling products. Its identity combines classic barbering with modern styling, supported by professional education, collections, imagery, and a haircutting methodology blending scissor cutting with barber clippering. Raccuglia shaped that identity as the brand’s founder, photographer, and later creative consultant. American Crew marked its 25th anniversary in 2019, by which time its salon-by-salon educational work had contributed to the development of men’s grooming. Revlon acquired The Colomer Group in 2013, bringing American Crew into its professional-brand portfolio. Revlon emerged from Chapter 11 as a private company in 2023 under lender control, with American Crew included in its brand portfolio. In August 2024, Revlon appointed Terri & Sandy to develop a new brand platform and integrated marketing work for American Crew, with the first work expected in 2025.
