André Courreges
Founded in Paris in 1961 by André Courrèges and Coqueline Courrèges, Courrèges built its early identity around geometric silhouettes, miniskirts, white clothing, vinyl and a futuristic vision of fashion. Its spring–summer 1965 collection projected women’s clothing into an idealized future through optical white, flared forms, short skirts and designs that allowed freedom of movement. After that collection’s impact, André Courrèges stopped presenting runway shows in August 1965 to avoid copying, then reopened the house to the press in February 1967 with a larger ready-to-wear ambition. The Courrèges family sold the brand in 2011 to Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting; Artémis, the Pinault family holding company, took full control in September 2018. From 2020 until his departure in March 2026, Nicolas Di Felice shaped a contemporary identity through body-conscious clubwear and garments linked to the house’s space-age codes. In fragrance, Empreinte was the house’s first perfume, launched in 1971 and returned in 2021; it is an emblematic Courrèges perfume, while La Fille de l’air, created in 2015, is identified as a bestseller.
