Anthropologie

Anthropologie opened its first store in winter 1992 in a former car garage in Wayne, Pennsylvania, as a lifestyle concept for women seeking apparel, home décor, gifts, and products connected with worldly inspiration and personal interests. It expanded beyond apparel and décor into furniture, children’s and babies’ apparel, wellness, and beauty, while launching its first catalog and Anthropologie.com in 1998. Its first European store opened on London’s Regent Street in 2009. Anthropologie is part of URBN, the portfolio operated by Urban Outfitters, Inc., and spans apparel, accessories, intimates, furniture, décor, beauty, gardening through Terrain, and bridal through Anthropologie Weddings. Its creative identity emphasizes immersive retail environments, creativity, artistry, discovery, and connection with a creative-minded community. In fragrance, the 2009 A Rather Novel Collection was its first perfume line, pairing six tea-based fragrances with geographic references and book-like packaging. In 2010, Anthropologie collaborated with Le Labo on five vintage-inspired fragrances, accompanied by candles and solid-perfume compacts.
