Antica Barbieria Colla
Founded in Milan in 1904 by Dino Colla, a barber from Ferrara, Antica Barbieria Colla moved near Teatro alla Scala in 1919 before reopening at Via Gerolamo Morone 3 on April 1, 1944, after Milan’s 1943 bombing; the address remains its current location. Its identity is grounded in traditional Milanese barbering, manual service, personal care, and products developed for the barbershop’s treatment method. Francesca Bompieri joined the family business around 2010, created its corporate identity, launched the online shop in 2013, and took over from Franco. During her leadership, aftershave milk was introduced in 2014, beard products became available to the public in 2015, and four colognes were relaunched in 2016 after a period off the market. The brand’s clearest fragrance legacy is Colonie 1904, a collection of four numbered colognes—1, 9, 0, and 4—whose numbers refer to the founding year. In 2024, the collection provided the creative basis for a Milan Design Week Bar & Parfums project marking the barbershop’s 120th anniversary.
