Aromaflage
Aromaflage was launched in 2013 by spouses Melissa and Michael Fensterstock through their company, Mikey & Momo. The idea grew from a trip to Southeast Asia, where they encountered botanical fragrances intended to help repel insects; they later acquired rights to a dual-action product and brought it to the United States. The brand built its identity around “fragrance with function,” presenting perfume as a botanical insect-repellent product for outdoor use. Thai Yao mixed the oils used to create the perfume. By August 2016, Aromaflage had expanded from its original formula into three functional fragrances: Original, Wild, and Sleep. Original represented the launch concept, while Wild was described as a deeper, spicier, woodier variation. In 2018, the Federal Trade Commission addressed deceptive mosquito-repellent and endorsement claims involving Aromaflage sprays and candles, approving a final consent order in September. By June of that year, the manufacturer was no longer making Aromaflage.
