Aspinal of London
Aspinal of London was established in 2001 by British entrepreneur Iain Burton. Its beginnings lay in Burton’s work supplying audio guides to museums including the National Gallery, the Louvre and the Vatican; this relationship developed into supplying museum gift shops with handcrafted leather stationery and keepsakes. Aspinal evolved from museum stationery and gifts into a broader leather-goods and lifestyle brand spanning handbags, small leather goods, business accessories and travel goods. Its identity combines English heritage and craftsmanship with refined English elegance and contemporary design, drawing together London’s cultural institutions and the English countryside. The brand’s headquarters are in the West Sussex Downs, while its origins lie in London’s museums, galleries and cultural institutions. In 2008, Icelandic investment company Arev bought Aspinal of London and placed it in a newly named company, YRRET. In 2024, Aspinal launched its first fragrance collection, comprising Green Rose, Ochre Spice and Musky Fig. Green Rose was presented as a tribute to an English country garden and floral artwork, following a three-year fragrance project led by Mariya Dykalo.
