Atelier Rebul

Atelier Rebul traces its origins to 1895, when French pharmacist Jean Cesar Reboul founded the Grande Pharmacie Parisienne in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district. Kemal Müderrisoğlu joined the pharmacy as an apprentice in 1920, became Reboul’s partner in 1936, and took over the business in 1939 when Reboul returned to France. The family succession continued in 1970 with Mehmet Müderrisoğlu, while the business expanded beyond pharmacy into personal care. In 2013, Kerim Müderrisoğlu, Korel Bingöl, and Nüket Filiba established Atelier Rebul as a modern cosmetics and fragrance brand rooted in pharmaceutical heritage, fragrance expertise, natural ingredients, Istanbul, and French influence. Its fragrance history includes Rebul Lavanda, launched in 1938 from lavender grown in Reboul’s garden and closely associated with the pharmacy as a defining Istanbul fragrance. Later collections drew inspiration from Istanbul locations and atmosphere, including Istanbul and Pera. Atelier Rebul continues under Rebul Holding, with the fourth generation represented by Kerim Müderrisoğlu and Nüket Filiba; a capital partnership with Japan-based Rohto Pharmaceutical was completed in 2019, followed by entry into Japan in 2021.
