Fragrance house
Attention
Attention is documented as Attention by Avon, a men’s floral-aldehydic fragrance launched in 1942. Its story is therefore tied to Avon, whose origins date to 1886, when David H. McConnell founded the California Perfume Company after discovering that customers valued his perfume samples more than the books he sold. In its early years, McConnell mixed the company’s first fragrances in New York and recruited women as sales representatives, linking fragrance creation with a women-led direct-selling model. The company began using the Avon name on a cosmetics line in 1929 and adopted Avon as its corporate name in 1939. Natura acquired Avon in 2020. On 2 January 2026, Natura completed the sale of Avon International’s European, African, and Asian operations to Regent LP, while the Avon brand, including its economic rights and intellectual property, remained under Natura’s control in Latin America.
