Aubusson originated in France as a fragrance company associated with perfumer Daniel Aubusson. Parfums Daniel Aubusson was established in 1984, the same year the brand introduced its first fragrance, Histoire d’Amour. Described as a breakthrough for the house, Histoire d’Amour became one of its most beloved fragrances and was followed by Histoire d’Amour 2 in 2003. Aubusson’s documented fragrance identity includes a specialization in women’s floral fragrances, alongside later releases for men. Ownership changed in 2012, when Palm Beach Beauté, LLC became the listed owner of the Parfums Aubusson trademark. After that transition, the line was released under the name Parfums Aubusson while continuing within Palm Beach Beauté’s fragrance portfolio. The original French company was dissolved in February 2013 and subsequently removed from the French company register.
