Aurora Borealis

Aurora Borealis is a Russian author-perfumery almanac devoted to fragrances about Russia and created by members and experts of the Russian Perfumery Club. Founded and creatively directed by Marianna Penkova, founder of the Russian Perfumery Club, it presented its first series, Legends of the Russian North, at the club’s VAST Perfume Salon in Moscow on 22 April 2022. The collection used formulas by Russian independent perfumers Nikolay Eremin, Michele Bianchi, and Yana Andreeva, adapted for industrial production by Cosmo International Fragrances. Aurora Borealis organizes its work around thematic collections inspired by Russian places, nature, mythology, and cultural imagery, including the Russian North, the Russian forest, and southern lands. Its almanac format brings together perfumers with different styles rather than pursuing one uniform house style. In April 2026, the project launched Night Sun, created by perfumer Valeria Karmanova, extending its Russia-themed creative program.
