Fragrance house
Avatim
Founded in Bahia in 2002 by Mônica Burgos and César Fávero, Avatim began with environmental fragrances before developing exclusive olfactory identities for organizations and public figures, then extending its work into personal-care and home-care products. The brand’s name means “scents of the earth” in Tupi, reflecting its stated inspiration in Brazil’s native fruits, flowers, and aromas. Its commissioned identities have included creations for Hotel Copacabana Palace, the Salvador city government, Daniela Mercury, Ivete Sangalo, Expresso 2222, and Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Theatre. Avatim’s fragrance legacy includes Gigi, which launched in 2017, won that year’s Atualidade Cosmética award for Latin American women’s perfumery, and is described as a best-selling fragrance associated with co-founder Mônica Burgos’s life trajectory. In August 2026, Avatim and designer Amir Slama extended their creative relationship into Raízes do Jequitibá, their first clothing collection together, translating illustrations linked to Avatim’s perfumery and sensory universe into fashion prints.
