Avroy Shlain

Founded in South Africa in 1973 by Avroy and Beryl Shlain, Avroy Shlain began with a small skincare range and evolved into a beauty portfolio spanning skincare, makeup, body care, hair care, fragrances and personal care. It developed as a direct-selling company serving Southern Africa, with a public identity tied to African beauty and opportunity through independent beauty advisors. Ownership passed from the founders to Sara Lee Corporation in 1993 and to Tupperware Brands Corporation in 2005; a 2021 transaction brought the business back under South African ownership. In fragrance, JS is one of the company’s top-selling fragrances and a signature scent associated with women’s confidence and individuality. Legendary Man Oud is the brand’s first oud fragrance and an evolution of the Legendary Man line.
