Balmain Beauty
Balmain Beauty was established in 2022 through a partnership and licensing agreement between Balmain Paris and The Estée Lauder Companies. Its wider fashion house is a Parisian maison founded by Pierre Balmain in 1945 and associated with his postwar “New French Style.” In June 2016, Mayhoola for Investments acquired Balmain from its existing investors. Olivier Rousteing, who became creative director in 2011, shaped the house’s modern public identity through an inclusive, globally oriented approach that connected its archives and Parisian heritage with contemporary fashion. He stepped down in November 2025 after 14 years, and Antonin Tron was appointed creative director that month as the house moved toward a more construction-led, refined design language. Balmain’s fragrance history began with Élysées 64-83 in 1946, followed by Vent Vert in 1947. Created by Pierre Balmain and perfumer Germaine Cellier, Vent Vert is identified as a pioneer of the green olfactory family. In September 2024, Balmain Beauty launched Les Éternels de Balmain, its inaugural beauty creation: eight all-gender eaux de parfum inspired by the house’s fragrance heritage and Rousteing’s creative vision.
