Bath & Body Works

Bath & Body Works was launched in 1990 within the Limited Brands retail group as a personal-care retailer that included White Barn Candle Company. Its parent company, founded in Columbus, Ohio, in 1963, evolved from an apparel-focused specialty retailer into a business centered on home fragrance, body care, soaps, and sanitizers under Bath & Body Works, White Barn, and related names. By 2005, Bath & Body Works operated across personal care, beauty, and home fragrance, alongside C.O. Bigelow and White Barn Candle Company. That year, Limited Brands acquired home-fragrance company Slatkin & Company, and Harry Slatkin continued developing candles for Bath & Body Works after the purchase. In 2021, L Brands changed its name to Bath & Body Works, Inc., as Bath & Body Works became a standalone public company. Fragrance is the idea on which the business was founded and remains central to its activities, spanning products for the body and home. Japanese Cherry Blossom, introduced in 2006, is described as a best-selling floral perfume.
