Beacon Mercantile

Beacon Mercantile was founded by Toni Hacker in June 2018 as a made-to-order apothecary and home-goods project run from her home studio in Beacon, New York. Rooted in Hacker’s interest in fragrance, the brand produced hand-made perfumes, candles, skincare, and apothecary goods in small batches using plant-based ingredients and perfumery materials. In May 2019, the studio moved to Beacon’s historic Matteawan station, where Hacker opened a small shop. In fall 2022, the business became online-only and relocated to a home studio in upstate New York, retaining a small, hands-on format. Its fragrance identity includes No.44 Beacon, a place-based eau de parfum connecting Beacon’s creative community and natural setting with the brand’s sense of place. After eight years of handmaking perfumes and apothecary goods, Hacker closed Beacon Mercantile in July 2026 and opened Sage Healing NY.
