Bellegance Perfumes is a fragrance company founded by Dr. Gordon Schaye. Its stated identity is built around fragrances that celebrate women’s confidence, strength, resourcefulness, elegance, and sophistication, using women perfumers. The brand’s premiere fragrance, Midnight Promise, launched in 2013 and was presented at the Sniffapalooza Fall Ball in New York City on October 26 that year; a contemporary Rotary publication reported that it had launched in New York about a month earlier. Sarah Horowitz was the perfumer behind Midnight Promise, a women’s oriental-floral composition marked by warm-spicy, woody, amber, patchouli, smoky, and rose accords.
