Benamôr

Benamôr was founded in Lisbon in 1925 by an apothecary whose early beauty recipes used Portuguese natural ingredients and distinctive perfumes. Its first formula, Créme de Rosto, was packaged in an Art Deco tube, and its formula is documented as unchanged since 1925. Botanical ingredients, handmade recipes, Portuguese origins and Art Deco design remain part of the brand’s historical identity, alongside early creations such as Alantoíne hand cream and Bronzaline. Queen Amélie was a regular customer from 1935, and the Rose Amélie line was later launched in her honor. Sociedade de Perfumarias Nally acquired Benamôr in 2015, after which the brand was relaunched as a contemporary cosmetics label while retaining its historical formulas, visual codes and association with handmade production. In 2022, Benamôr introduced a five-fragrance Eau de Cologne collection inspired by Portuguese botany, combining citrus and neroli freshness with references to the country’s landscapes and flora.
