Berdoues
Berdoues traces its origins to Toulouse in 1902, when Guillaume Berdoues created an amber eau de Cologne for his shaving clients and opened a perfumery on Rue Lafayette. The family perfumery’s know-how passed through four generations. In 1936, Henri Berdoues created a fragrance inspired by the Toulouse violet, whose immediate success drove the company’s growth. Pierre Berdoues introduced Collection 1902 in 1970, followed by Collection Grands Crus in 2015. Sophie Berdoues, a pharmacist and fourth-generation family member, took responsibility in 2009 for a stronger focus on product composition and creative renewal, and initiated a broad refocusing around perfumes and cosmetics in 2018. Violettes de Toulouse, created in the mid-1930s, remains an emblematic fragrance in the house’s history and is associated with a major phase of growth.
