Bergamoss

Bergamoss is a Czech fragrance brand founded by perfumer Václav Lebeda. Its name emerged around 2019–2020 as a wordplay on bergamot and oakmoss, during the period when Lebeda began seriously studying and experimenting with perfumery; after his music performances were cancelled during the COVID-19 period, he intensified that work. In 2022, an external commission to create fragrances for an existing perfume brand led him to undertake formulation, sampling, regulatory, and allergen work. Collaboration with Mandario in 2024 enabled production at larger scale and formalized Bergamoss’s logo, packaging, and bottle design. The brand launched its website and entered the Czech and European markets on April 1, 2025, with Pivoine de Malène as its inaugural fragrance. Lebeda created the perfume after hundreds of attempts for his wife and named it after their daughter, Malène.
