Beverly Hills

The fragrance identity associated with Beverly Hills is Giorgio Beverly Hills, which began with a boutique opened in 1961 on Rodeo Drive by Fred Hayman and George Grant. Grant’s first name supplied “Giorgio,” and Hayman bought out Grant in 1962, after which Hayman and his second wife, Gale, maintained the business. The boutique’s yellow-and-white striped frontage and association with West Coast luxury helped establish Rodeo Drive as an upscale shopping destination and shaped the brand’s public identity. In 1981, the house launched its first fragrance, Giorgio Beverly Hills, translating the boutique’s spirit and lifestyle into scent. The fragrance was the nation’s top-selling fragrance for four years before being displaced by the house’s Red fragrance, which became the nation’s top seller in 1990. Beverly Hills is associated with a warm, feminine floral style connected to Californian glamour.
