Fragrance house

Bijan

Bijan began in Beverly Hills in 1976, founded and designed by Bijan Pakzad with business partner Dar Mahboubi. Born in Tehran, Pakzad moved to the United States in the early 1970s and opened an appointment-only boutique on Rodeo Drive, where the brand’s identity became closely associated with his personal image, self-authored advertising, and a distinctive yellow visual language. A Fifth Avenue showroom followed in 1983. Bijan launched its fragrance division in 1987; the collection received multiple awards and became the number-one-selling fragrance in many department stores internationally. After Pakzad’s death in Los Angeles in April 2011, the company continued under family ownership, with his son Nicolas as a visible successor. In 2020, the boutique moved across Rodeo Drive while retaining major original design elements, including its yellow color and perfume-bottle chandelier, linking the contemporary space to the house’s established visual identity.
