Blind Barber

Founded in 2010 in New York City’s East Village by Adam Kirsch, Jeff Laub, and Josh Boyd, Blind Barber began with a two-chair barbershop paired with a hidden, speakeasy-style cocktail lounge. The format made grooming part of a social setting, while the name drew on Prohibition-era terms for places that served alcohol covertly. By 2012, the brand had expanded toward Los Angeles and launched a take-home grooming line, developed with input from its barbers and inspired in part by ingredients associated with spirits. Its identity centers on a neighborhood barbershop and community-centered approach, with local communities informing its spaces, products, and practices. In 2018, Bryce Harper joined as a partner, and Blind Barber is privately owned rather than a franchise operation. In 2025, Blind Barber and The Standard, High Line introduced Glass House, a collaborative fragrance linking Blind Barber’s grooming identity with the hotel’s hospitality concept.
