Blumarine
Founded in 1977 in Carpi, Italy, by designer Anna Molinari and her husband Gianpaolo Tarabini, Blumarine first appeared at Milan’s Modit fair in 1980, where Molinari received the Designer of the Year title, before debuting on the Milan Fashion Week runway in 1981. In 1988, Blufin was established, and its portfolio later included Blugirl, Anna Molinari and Miss Blumarine. Blumarine broadened from womenswear into a lifestyle business, introducing a home collection in 1992 and expanding to about 400 retail outlets worldwide by 1994. Its identity centers on romanticism, freedom, spontaneity, inclusion and femininity. In November 2019, Liu Jo entrepreneur Marco Marchi acquired the brand from its founders through the Eccellenze Italiane/Exelite structure, which owns Blumarine. Nicola Brognano’s work reintroduced roses, butterflies and rhinestones associated with the brand’s early-2000s period. On 31 July 2024, David Koma was appointed creative director, with his first collection scheduled for Pre-Fall 2025.
