Fragrance house
boadiceathevictorius
Boadicea The Victorious was founded in 2008 as a British luxury fragrance house inspired by Boadicea, the ancient Celtic Iceni queen associated with strength, courage, and nobility. Michael Boadi provided the creative origin of the house, shaping a concept rooted in British heritage and its warrior-queen namesake. Its identity combines gender-neutral fragrance, storytelling, and handcrafted bottle elements. The brand launched that year as a worldwide exclusive at Harrods; its official history records it as one of the best-selling fragrances in the store’s Black Hall Perfumery, followed by similar recognition at Henri Bendel in New York and Selfridges in 2009. In 2019, David Crisp bought the business after it had gone into administration. It now presents itself as an independent British fragrance house trading under Valorem Capital One Limited. Among its early fragrances, Majestic was selected by Boadi as the house fragrance, giving it a documented place in the brand’s early olfactory story.
