Bobbi Brown
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics began in 1991, when Bobbi Brown Essentials—10 brown-based lipsticks—debuted at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. Its makeup-artist founder built the brand around natural-looking makeup, shades designed to complement a broad range of skin tones, and practical guidance that encouraged women to become their own makeup artists. The line expanded with yellow-toned Foundation Stick shades in 1992 and skincare in 1995. Estée Lauder Companies acquired Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in October 1995. Brown stepped down from the namesake brand by the end of 2016, concluding her direct creative leadership after 25 years. In January 2021, makeup artist Hannah Murray became the brand’s first global artistic director, with a remit described as bringing a fresh eye while maintaining its emphasis on approachability, artistry, and real beauty. Bobbi Brown’s fragrance legacy includes Bobbi Brown Beach, introduced in 2002 and currently presented as a bestseller and summer-inspired scent.
