Bobby Jones
Introduced in 1989, Bobby Jones was created as a celebration of golfer Robert Tyre Jones Jr. and an expression of modern country-club lifestyle. Its identity draws on Jones’s legacy, character, style, and golf achievements, including his completion of golf’s single-year Grand Slam in 1930. The brand’s apparel historically operated through licensing arrangements, including a 2004 agreement under which the Jones family and Hartmarx licensed trademark rights for golf clubs and related equipment to the newly formed Bobby Jones Golf Company. After HMX Group, which operated Bobby Jones, filed for bankruptcy in 2012, Waitt Brands acquired the brand through an affiliate in 2013, while Jones heirs led by Robert Jones IV retained a minority interest. Bobby Jones expanded with the launch of Rule 18 in 2016 and is publicly presented today as a golf and country-club lifestyle brand offering apparel and accessories that combine modern technology with its namesake’s legacy and enduring style.
