Bogue

Bogue Profumo was founded in 2012 by Antonio Gardoni, an architect, designer, and self-taught perfumer whose architectural background informs the house’s layered, subtractive approach to composition. Gardoni began experimenting with plant extraction around 2008, and Bogue’s method combines ancient techniques such as infusions and steam distillation with modern intuitions; its perfumes are conceived as rooms explored through mood, texture, light, and color. In 2013, Bogue participated in Beijing Design Week through an olfactory installation with AG Studio and WUHAO, creating five scented rooms based on elements of Chinese philosophy alongside an olfactory map of Beijing. MAAI, released in 2014 as an extrait de parfum, brought Bogue and Gardoni to the attention of perfume social media and reviewers. In 2021, Bogue joined fragrance and sound in LiTA, a collaboration with musicians Luke Pritchard and Ellie Rose, and marked ten years of fragrance activity in 2022 with 10edt, described as a stylistic turning point and a new phase in its olfactory research.
