Bohoboco
Bohoboco was established in 2009 by designers Michał Gilbert Lach and Kamil Owczarek. The brand began as a fashion label, with early tailoring work in Warsaw and a first presentation at Łódź Fashion Week. Its fashion activity officially ended in December 2020 after 11 years, with the brand citing the effects of COVID-19; Lach then focused on perfumes. He is identified as the founder and creative director of Bohoboco Perfume, having moved from fashion to fragrance in search of greater creative freedom. His approach translates personal memories, emotions, and Polish olfactory experiences into compositions conceived as a non-verbal form of self-expression. The first Bohoboco perfume was created in 2012 as Number One, or No 1, and is now called Vanilla Black Pepper. The perfume collection premiered in Poland in 2016 and was also featured that year at Milan’s 10 Corso Como. Bohoboco later received a Newcomer nomination at The Fragrance Foundation Awards in London during the pandemic period. Vanilla Black Pepper is described as an enduring bestseller, while Wet Cherry Liquor has been associated with the brand’s greatest international recognition.
