Bois

Bois 1920 is a Florentine artisan perfumery rooted in the Galardi family’s perfume-making tradition. In 1920, Guido Galardi began experimenting with formulas in a small Florence workshop, using locally gathered spigo, or lavender; the name refers to Bottega Italiana Spigo 1920. The original family business closed in 1925 when Guido’s son chose not to continue the tradition. Guido’s grandson Enzo Galardi revived it in 2005 under the Bois 1920 name, reinterpreting the founder’s formulas and ideas. Its creative identity combines perfume tradition with innovation, including research into raw materials and new olfactory compositions. In February 2018, the brand returned to Galardi family ownership after a period of difficulty and change. Bois 1920 was selected among the five best olfactory expressions at the 2012 FiFi Awards in New York. For its centenary in 2020, it introduced Centenario, created with Cristian Calabrò and framed around the meeting of Florentine roots with travel and exotic references. Arnoway S.r.l. currently identifies Bois 1920 among its owned brands.
