Bridgerton
Bridgerton originated as Julia Quinn’s romance-novel series, written between 2000 and 2006. In October 2018, Netflix announced a screen project based on Quinn’s novels, with Chris Van Dusen adapting, showrunning, and executive producing alongside Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers through Shondaland. The television series launched on Netflix in 2020 as a Regency-era romance reimagined through contemporary storytelling, including an intentionally diverse social world and a Black Queen Charlotte. In 2021, Netflix and Shondaland announced a Queen Charlotte limited-series spin-off, which premiered on May 4, 2023 and focused on the young queen’s rise, marriage to King George, and the social order inherited by the original series. Bridgerton’s public identity extends the screen universe into licensed lifestyle and fragrance collaborations. Bath & Body Works launched the first Bridgerton fragrance collection in March 2024, featuring Diamond of the Season. In January 2026, Coty announced a seasonal full Eau de Parfum collection inspired by Bridgerton, whose fragrance identity draws on Regency-inspired storytelling, romance, high-society imagery, character references, and immersive world-building.
