Brioni
Founded in Rome in 1945 by master tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and entrepreneur Gaetano Savini, Brioni’s identity is rooted in high-end men’s tailoring, combining Roman ease with artisanal construction and historical techniques. In 1952, the house presented a men’s fashion show at Florence’s Sala Bianca in Palazzo Pitti; the event is described as the first in fashion history. Brioni opened the Scuola di Alta Sartoria Nazareno Fonticoli in Penne in 1985 to transmit its sartorial skills to future generations. Its association with cinema includes dressing Pierce Brosnan as James Bond beginning with GoldenEye in 1995 and continuing through three subsequent Bond films. From 2018 until December 2025, Norbert Stumpfl led the design direction, modernizing the traditional suit and strengthening the casual proposition. Brioni Eau de Parfum, composed with perfumer Michel Almairac and presented as a signature fragrance, won Marie Claire’s 2025 award for Best Designer Fragrance—Men’s.
