Brunello Cucinelli

Brunello Cucinelli founded his company in 1978 with the idea of dyeing cashmere in modern colours. In 1982, he moved to Solomeo, an Umbrian village that became the setting for the company and its philosophy; three years later, he purchased the village’s ruined 14th-century castle and made it the headquarters. The business grew from cashmere knitwear into men’s and women’s collections spanning ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories, alongside an international retail presence. Its identity brings together Made in Italy craftsmanship, manual skills, refined taste, understated branding and inspiration from Umbria. Humanistic Capitalism and Human Sustainability provide its stated philosophical framework, connecting business with human dignity, fair profitability, community, nature and cultural stewardship. Brunello Cucinelli S.p.A. was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in April 2012. In 2014, Cucinelli transferred his entire shareholding in the controlling holding company to an irrevocable trust intended to support long-term family succession. The brand entered perfumery in 2023 with Brunello Cucinelli pour Femme and pour Homme, followed in October 2024 by Incanti Poetici, its second fragrance collection of six genderless creations inspired by its philosophy and Umbrian landscapes.
