Fragrance house
BTV
Boadicea The Victorious was founded by Michael Boadi as his first perfume line and launched in 2008 as a worldwide exclusive at Harrods in London. The house takes its name and identity from the historical British warrior queen Boadicea, with its work centered on Britishness, heritage, craftsmanship, and gender-neutral perfumery. Its visual identity centers on flask-shaped bottles marked by Celtic-style shields, connecting the packaging to the brand’s historical and British references. The fragrance vocabulary combines globally sourced materials with British production, emphasizing florals, woods, and resins rather than one narrowly defined olfactory family. In a 2008 interview, Boadi identified Majestic as the house fragrance, describing it as a white-floral composition with a gourmand honeyed character. David Garofalo first invested in the business in 2010, and a 2016 relationship agreement described Garofalo and Crisp as equal partners in the operating business. After a Chancery Division injunction on 9 October 2023 removed Crisp from relevant directorships, new management took control on 11 October, and Crisp’s employment ended on 13 October.
