Fragrance house
Burdin
Burdin’s history began in 1937, when Stéphane and Berthe Burdin opened a perfumery at 123 boulevard de Sébastopol in Paris and sold fragrances and eaux de Cologne of their own creation. The business remained a family enterprise across generations: Étienne and Béatrice took over in the 1960s and 1970s, and the founders’ grandchildren later continued the family business and revived its fragrance line. Burdin’s original fragrances were associated with bottles commissioned from Lalique and the crystal works of Nancy. In 2014, the grandchildren relaunched the fragrance identity with three women’s perfumes inspired by earlier Burdin compositions; Véronique Nyberg created that relaunch, while Nathalie Feisthauer later created the newer masculine collection and the 2021 women’s fragrance Emmène-Moi. The current fragrance identity is organized around Collection Or and Collection Platinium, with Collection Or including Tinoutcha and Paris Minuit, names reintroduced from the earlier catalogue in new compositions.
