Bvlgari
Bvlgari was founded in Rome in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari. His sons Giorgio and Costantino helped shift the family business from silversmithing toward high jewellery, while the brand’s identity developed through vivid colour combinations, balanced volumes, recognizable motifs, and references to its Roman roots. From the 1940s, its Italian style was especially evident in yellow gold and Serpenti’s sinuous coils. In the 1990s, Bvlgari diversified into silk and leather accessories and entered perfumery. Its fragrance business began in 1992 with Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, initially conceived as an exclusive gift for high-jewellery clients. Credited to Jean-Claude Ellena, the fragrance became a reference, and tea remains a durable fragrance family for Bvlgari through the Eau Parfumée collection. The B.zero1 ring, launched in 1999, became an all-time bestseller. In 2011, Bvlgari agreed to an all-share combination with LVMH.
