Byermia

Byermia is an independent artisanal perfume house based in Sydney, Australia, led by Zannat Lamia, with creative compositions by Ashek Zubayer. Its name combines the last three letters of Zubayer’s name with Lamia’s name. The earliest documented Byermia fragrance editions date to 2023, when the initial Epoch Series presented life’s turning points, including youth, first love, marriage, and leadership. The house’s creative identity brings traditional storytelling and cultural inspiration from the East into modern perfumery, using materials such as oud, floral absolutes, and musks. Zubayer is the principal perfumer and creative figure, focusing on composition and material sourcing, while Lamia handles the business side. In 2024, Zubayer was selected as a finalist perfumer in Mouillette D’Argent VIII for Orrisuede. The Folklore Series is documented as a 2025 group of fragrances built around mythological and emotional themes. Tabac Sura, a bespoke fragrance, sold out quickly and was identified as Byermia’s most loved creation to date.
