BZ Parfums
BZ Parfums was founded in 1993 by Ukrainian perfumer Bohdan Zubchenko and is based in Kyiv. Zubchenko is the brand’s creator, owner, perfumer and olfactory director; he began through self-directed study, experimentation and the creation of some materials in the 1990s, before his work expanded into personal, corporate and interior fragrance commissions. In 2008, after individual commissions had appeared and niche perfumery had grown in Ukraine, he decided to present himself publicly as a professional fragrance creator and develop BZ Parfums as a brand. Its creative identity combines classical high-perfumery traditions with experimentation, personal associations and a musical or dramaturgical approach to composition. The Alea line, conceived in the early 1990s and taking shape around 1993–1995, uses numbered fragrances and emphasizes personal interpretation rather than descriptive names. BZ Parfums has also developed fragrance as an art medium, creating an olfactory composition for a 2017 exhibition and Mona for a 2018 theatre production. Alea 78 Porichka, created in 2015, was called Zubchenko’s most popular fragrance and belongs to a Ukrainian-themed series.
