Calgon

Calgon launched in 1946 with Bath Oil Beads as its first product. During the 1960s, it developed the advertising identity associated with “Take Me Away!”, a tagline that became a lasting cultural reference. The brand expanded from bath oils and bath salts into body washes, sprays, lotions, shower gels, and fragrances, with products spanning bath and body care. In 2007, Ascendia Brands acquired Calgon and related assets from Coty and its affiliates. A major rebranding announced in 2009 brought new packaging, a new logo, product extensions, and a marketing campaign; the 2010 relaunch introduced 30 new products. In 2013, Yellow Wood Partners purchased Ilex Consumer Products Group, whose health, bath, and beauty brands included Calgon. Calgon’s fragrance range was expanded in 2014 alongside refreshed packaging and the continuation of its “Take Me Away!” identity. Current legal information states that Calgon is a trademark used under license by PDC; the former PDC Brands organization now presents itself as Arthēa.
