Calvin Klein

Founded in New York City in 1968 by designer Calvin Klein, the brand built its identity around minimalism, sensuality, simplicity, and self-expression. Its history includes putting denim on the runway in 1976 and developing designer underwear in the 1980s, milestones that extended its approach across fashion categories. Ownership shifted to PVH on February 12, 2003, when PVH acquired Calvin Klein, Inc. and its affiliated marks; a decade later, PVH’s acquisition of The Warnaco Group reunited the House of Calvin Klein. In May 2024, Calvin Klein appointed Veronica Leoni Creative Director of Collection and announced a return to the runway. Leoni presented her Calvin Klein debut during New York Fashion Week in February 2025, marking the brand’s return after its last show in 2018. In fragrance, Calvin Klein introduced CK One in 1994 as a scent for both men and women. Its shared-use positioning and campaign featuring groups of young men and women helped distinguish the launch, and CK One Essence followed in 2024 as an evolution of the original fragrance.
